I really hate guns, bombs too for that matter. Whoever invented guns and bombs and whoever has invented new and 'better' versions? What on earth did they think they were doing? Did they never stop and think about the consequences? Why would anyone want to create such terrible killing machines? And once invented, how could anyone want to use them?
I've just been reading about the cluster bombs Britain has been using in Iraq. They have dropped 70 of them around Baghdad so far, and cluster bombs are really evil. They each contain 147 little bomblets and each bomblet contains 100g of high explosive wrapped with 2, 000 pieces of shrapnel. So overall the bomb can devastate an area as large as 4 football pitches. And even then they can't even do the job properly because 5-12% (although some estimates say this can be as high as 30%) of the time they don't even explode! These unexploded bombs will kill or maim civilians for years to come. The government said they were only dropping them on military targets of course but then they had to admit the truth, that they'd been used in built up areas too. I think whatever the rights and wrongs of going to war in Iraq are, some of the weapons and bombs used are clearly wrong.
I mean even apart from all this, guns/bombs are just generally indiscriminate(mostly in the case of bombs), cowardly and pathetic. I think we should get rid of them all and instead settle disputes with the good old-fashioned skill of the sword!
